Ryan grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota and was a competitive gymnast for 10 years where he reached the highest level, Class 1, and qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals twice.  Following high school Ryan attended the University of Florida where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a major in Marketing and a Master’s Degree in International Business. Following graduation Ryan moved to Niceville, FL and held full time jobs in marketing and customer service while working part time as a coach, but soon realized his true passion was coaching and working with youth athletes.  

 

Ryan has coached cheer and tumbling in Niceville since 2010. He and his wife Shannon have owned Destination Athletics since 2018.  He has been a speaker at multiple conferences on tumbling skills, technique, and class management.  Ryan is the Tumbling Director for Destination Athletics and an assistant coach at Niceville High School.  He also works with many school teams in the area and loves the team aspect of cheerleading.
